Mr. Schweitzer calls the decision “a return to pre-revolutionary America,” and with the direst of warnings insists that we are barreling straight toward being a theocracy. The silly “theocracy” scarecrow is what the Left always trots out when any of our religious freedoms are upheld.

Here God delegates his own authority to man, in the form of civil government, to execute murderers. Capital punishment had been forbidden by God prior to the flood, so man could see what a world without the death penalty – a liberal paradise – would look like. With no justice to restrain evil, it was not long before “the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and…every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time” (Genesis 6:5).
Ha Ha!!! Interesting but the current Tea Party is the Gold Standard Libertarian John Birch Society types egging on the Christian Conservative to more and more extreme Far Right positions, but it’s in a wide variety of areas, not just social conservative. The extremism is in drowning the Government, Lowering Taxes, eliminating Regulation, guns everywhere and all types are fine, the more the better.
That’s the Problem, the Christians believe in Jesus the way Barry Goldwater believed in Freedom, No excess is possible, the combination is what make a wing-nut Jamboree, Santorum wants to put his marker out on Socially Conservative and maybe not the entire rest of the package, but the Big Money is on the Libertarian end. and they use it to scare the Christians and it works unfortunately. Santorum is thinking to just be maxed out on Social Conservative issues and pick and choose the rest?
Occupy is in NYC. The opposition is at Bob Jones and Liberty University. Occupy is using out of date Ideas, Change can only occur when the true nature of the Tea Party is addressed, it’s not Wall Street.
I feel for the girl but Occupy Bob Jones and Liberty University? The Pro Life Extremism drives the whole Cracker Circus, it’s religion not Marx (Economics), Koch money just makes it worse, the Fundamentalists are the ones being incited by Koch Money and voting for wing nuts, who buy into Gold Standard Libertarianism for social issues.

The conclusions of a review of 112 studies on Christian faith and ethnic prejudice were summarized by a study in 1980 as being that “white Protestants associated with groups possessing fundamentalist belief systems are generally more prejudiced than members of non-fundamentalist groups, with unchurched whites exhibiting least prejudice.” The original review found that its conclusions held “regardless of when the studies were conducted, from whom the data came, the region where the data were collected, or the type of prejudice studied.” More recently in 2003, eight studies have found a positive correlation between fundamentalism and prejudice, using different measures of fundamentalism.
A number of prominent members of the Christian right, including Jerry Falwell and Rousas John Rushdoony, have in the past supported segregation, with Falwell arguing in a 1958 sermon that integration will lead to the destruction of the white race.
In Thy Kingdom Come, Randall Balmer recounts comments that Paul M. Weyrich, who he describes as “one of the architects of the Religious Right in the late 1970s”, made at a conference, sponsored by a Religious Right organization, that they both attended in Washington in 1990:
In the course of one of the sessions,Weyrich tried to make a point to his Religious Right brethren (no women attended the conference, as I recall). Let’s remember, he said animatedly, that the Religious Right did not come together in response to the Roe decision. No, Weyrich insisted, what got us going as a political movement was the attempt on the part of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to rescind the tax-exempt status of Bob Jones University because of its racially discriminatory policies.
