Scott McKenzie – San Francisco

If you’re going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you’re going to San Francisco
You’re gonna meet some gentle people there

For those who come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair

All across the nation such a strange vibration
People in motion
There’s a whole generation with a new explanation
People in motion people in motion

For those who come to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there

If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there

San Francisco by Scott McKenzie still is beautiful beyond description. For the first time in my life I was in SF in 1967 on the way to Vietnam. Is there any way to post a note that Scott will see?

also passed thru there deploying to Vietnam via Gen John Pope troop ship in April 1966… came back home the following year in February 1967 thru Oakland Army Terminal.. the song that was playing as we got off the TWA charter plane enroute to SF from Bien Hoa entering the Army Terminal building was Scott Mackenzie’s San Francisco blaring away.. gotta love it

  2. John Gerlach says:
