Interesting post about the wind farm. Much more sensible idea than growing crops to turn into bio-fuel. Trouble is in the UK there are so many NIMBY`s (Not in my back yard). What the fail to see is that once a new, clean and cheap energy source is developed (and it will happen) it`s a fairly easy process to return the land back to what it was like before the wind turbines were installed. Unlike the huge areas of forested land in Canada that have been cleared to surface mine for oil bearing sands and shale, or the huge opencast coal mines around the world.

I have seen this myself, it is impressive to see hundreds of wind turbines spinning, creating more power in McLean county than it uses.
The farmers love the income, and people come from far away to see it.
Yes, now it costs 1cent more a KWH than coal plants, but fuel costs are zero. And after the construction costs are paid for, in about 8 years, it will be cheaper than coal.

I hope we are on the return to stability in economic matters, but long term, the Picken’s plan went into the stimulus as Picken’s desired, see what happens??
