Am I an Elitist Larry the Cable Guy? Leave the NEA out of the Battle against Smut or I’ll fight it to the Death! I don’t care if you close down every Smut store in the country, and remove all magazines with Naked Pictures from all the Gas Stations, and Wal-Mart‘s in the world, I will stand Idly aside. Mess with the NEA and I’ll persecute every born again (we are all supposed to be born again, but the ones who scream the title are the target of my wrath) Christian in way’s that will fulfill all their Martyrdom fantasies come to life. I don’t want Ralph Reed or Jerry Falwell within 100 miles of the Arts or I fear for everything that is of Value. Render unto Caesar, what is Caesar’s, Render God what is God’s. You aren’t going to Burn in Hell, because you paid Taxes to a Secular Government, that partially funded Homoerotic Black and white photographs in an exhibition. Smut is Smut , but that stuff (the black & white homoerotic Art) is basically less interesting to me personally as the 3rd rate local symphonies I was dragged to as a child, however I would grant that a Child should not look at them. But the mindset that would prohibit the funding of such is worse than the problem. I’ll admit, nothing could be worse than being dragged by some PC Feminazi to an exhibit of such (hopefully, they’d have good snacks and cute babes), but the Abolition of such is unacceptable. No more listening to that Weird Little Richard and his possibly Homoerotic Music, Pat Boone for all. Pick your targets more carefully and we could find a lot of Common Ground, but if you stay focused on the NEA, you’ll be a Fringe Group. Over here on the left, we have our problems also, I am personally very unhappy with the Bozo’s in California, who attacked the USMC recruiting station instead of the Bozo’s in Suits who put them in Iraq. Hmmmm?
And besides, since the demise of the Classics such as Gilligan’s Island, the Munsters and the Adams Family the only good TV has been Are You Being Served and the Black Adder, you’re hitting too close to home!!!
